Yesterday while I was pursuing other blogs I love, I was reminded of a moment on my honeymoon in Breckenridge Colorado. It was a poignant moment…one of those rare situations where you look at the person you are with and blink or shake your head and say to each other, “Did you see that?” Here’s what happened, it was the first night of our honeymoon and The Hubby and I went to a Sushi restaurant…I know, Sushi in Colorado is like a luau in Texas and believe me I was a bit concerned at first…but our hotel concierge assured us we would love it and so we went. But when we arrived at the restaurant they didn’t have any space for us accept for a small table near the restrooms. We were hungry and didn’t really care where we sat so we agreed to the table. After a few laughs about being so close to the toilets, we shared a toast of Sake and at that same moment I took a look at the small picture above our table. Now mind you, no other table in the entire restaurant had a picture above it’s table…there was no need as the rest of the restaurant had windows and views. Anyhow, as I looked at our picture and peered closer at it I noticed it was a drawing of a Japanese garden with a little bridge over a stream with a pathway leading off into the distance. And at the bottom of the drawing were these words, “The Journey Begins Here“. To this day I still get chills when I think about that because how lucky were we to have been sat at that table, the only table in the restaurant with a picture above it and it was almost as if the message was meant just for us. Coincidence or fate…I don’t know, but the message was perfect for us and I love the story. Marriage is a journey that should be enjoyed every step of the way.
Anyhoo, moving right along…today’s wedding sent to me by Jennifer Bowersock at Bowersock Photographers was shot at The Monon Community Center in Carmel, IN. With a love for design, Andrea the bride, wore a Sarah Seven design. And Wing, the groom, was outfitted handsomely in J.Crew. Centerpieces, including Ball jars, white/ivory flowers, and pots of herbs, were simple yet classy. Appetizers and champagne kept guests happy as they danced during sunset. Such a lovely, relaxed and fun wedding.
So Andrea and Wing, The Jouney Begins Here…
