Have Trolley Transport, Will Marry

Happy Friday everyone! It’s the end of a week of Southern Weddings for us here at FYB, well…kind of ūüėȬ† We sure have¬†had a lot of them this week anyway.¬† It’s all good though, we love us some good ol’ down south photography.¬† So to finish the week off in¬†the appropriate fashion we¬†have another wedding from¬†fabulous North Carolina photographer Sarah Whitmeyer of Whitmeyer Photography.¬† Earlier this week we featured Morgan & Jordan’s wedding¬†photographed by Sarah and today we have Carrie & Luke who were married in Asheville, North Carolina on June 18, 2011.¬† I’m really lovin’ the unique ceremony locations I’ve been¬†seeing lately and this is definitely one of them.¬† And isn’t the trolly transport cool too?¬† Can you believe it was raining for¬†part of the day before this wedding and it just happened to clear right before the outdoor ceremony?¬† I’m thinking that must have been some sort of sign.¬† On top of that there are so many things I love about this wedding. ¬†I love Carrie’s fresh look, her shoes and the shot Sarah captured of them.¬† I adore the flower girls and ring bearers. And how about the unique way Sarah photographed the wedding party on the fire escape?¬† But I’m especially fond of the lovely pink and grey color palette.¬† So pretty!

Anyhow, its definitely a beautiful wedding so let’s have a look.

A Soft, Storybook Southern Wedding

Have I mentioned how much I love southern weddings?¬† Today I have two of them and each are gorgeous in their own right.¬† This first one, photographed by Karina Rigtrup from A Fresh Take Photography, has such lovely, soft light and bride Megan looks every bit the gorgeous, southern lady.¬† The pastel colors and whimsical details are just¬†delightful and I¬†adore how picture perfect Megan, Adam and their bridal party look in all of these images.¬† This fabulous South Carolina wedding was a true labor of love for Megan.¬† From the many vintage treasures to¬†the DIY projects, she put her whole heart into making this wedding her own.¬† She’s an aspiring floral designer and even did her own flowers which turned out beautiful!¬† So let’s have a look…

A Relaxed & Fun Rincon Beach Club Wedding in Carpinteria, CA

Today’s second wedding is definitely a fun one for me to share.¬† Not only because bride and groom Shannon & Mike are two super cool and amazingly nice people, but also because the submission¬†comes¬†from Jessica Frey, a great friend and fantastic photographer.¬† On top of all that,¬†I also second shot this wedding along side Jessica.¬† Yup…how about that?¬† Pretty cool, huh?¬† I’ve never featured a wedding where I was the second shooter, so this is definitely fun for me.¬†¬†Plus, I can give you a first hand account of the day,¬†and that’s a definite bonus.

So, if you don’t know Jessica, let me tell you…she has to be one of the most fun people to be around.¬† And shooting a wedding along side her is no exception.¬† There’s a lot of dancing and goofiness that occurs, but she knows when it’s time to be professional and definitely always has getting the job done right at the forefront of her mind.¬† Take these getting ready shots for instance.¬† You would never guess that the room where Shannon¬†got ready was really quite small, would you?¬† I mean, it was a lovely room…but with the bride, four bridesmaids, a flower girl and her mother, Jessica did a fabulous job of making these¬†images work, don’t you think?¬† I also love the way¬†she styled the fun details Shannon & Mike made for the event.¬† They took the engagement images Jessica shot of them¬†and created this whole “Beach Boys-ish”, “Endless Summer”¬†themed wedding complete with old 45 records as table designators and CDs with music they put together for their guests.

Everything about this wedding was just fun and relaxed, just the way a wedding should be.  Thanks Jessica for having me shoot with you and congratulations again to Shannon & Mike!

A Beautiful Lace Gown, Cute-as-Can-Be Flower Girls, Cold Drinks in Mason Jars on a Warm Summer Day…All in A Lovely Wedding at Arlington’s West Mountain Inn

This is probably one of the longest titles I’ve ever written.¬† Okay, maybe I went a little over-board…but hey, sometimes¬†that’s alright to do…right?¬†¬†Especially when it’s regarding a wedding as lovely as this!¬†¬†And when Corey Hendrickson of Hendrickson Photography Weddings sent me¬†this¬†wedding, I went a little over-board then too.¬† ¬†Monica & Hayri were married¬†in July¬†at Arlington’s West Mountain Inn in Vermont.¬† And as you can see, the wedding was a complete success from their personalized invitations with images of them throughout their travels and life to the gorgeous flowers provided by Nancy Bishop Floral Designers.¬† I am so in love with the Peonies in Monica’s bouquet, they are simply gorgeous!¬† Everything about this wedding screams casual elegance and I absolutely love it, most especially the way the barn looks all lit up at night…such great ambiance.

As for Corey Hendrickson,¬†since promoting photographers is what this blog is mostly about, I am definitely a new fan!¬† Have you seen his website?¬† No?¬†¬†Well waste no time then…you should go check it out right after viewing this wedding.¬† I’m telling you, I see a LOT of photographer sites and Corey has something really clean and unique¬†in¬†his presentation and I like it very much.¬† So much so when I redesign my photography site I might have to¬†steal the concept.¬† Haha, no…just kidding, I wouln’t do that to you Corey.

Anyhow, let’s have a look at the beautiful wedding.

A Safari Themed Engagement Shoot with One Drop Dead Gorgeous Couple

G O R G E O U S¬† is the absolute best way to describe this couple and the¬†images produced by¬†Canadian photographer¬†Alyssa Alkema.¬† I mean seriously,¬†bride and groom to be, Alyssa & Steven, who are also high school sweethearts,¬†look like they should be on the cover and quite possibly every page of an Anthropologie catalog.¬† Don’t you think?¬† And I can only imagine what their children are going to look like.¬†¬†Can anyone say picture perfect?¬† Even better, this location called “The Devil’s Punchbowl” a popular local hangout and one where Alyssa & Steven use to go in high school is also the place where Steven asked Alyssa to be his wife.¬† I’m seriously swooning over them and their story.

Oh yes, and not to be confusing, but the bride and the photographer do have the same name…funny, huh?¬† Anyhow, it’s hard to say which set of images I like best from the gorgeous field ones to the canyon and train tracks set, complete with a vintage cooler.¬† And…as part of my job here at Fab You Bliss, checking out a photographer’s website to learn more about them and hopefully help them toot their horn a bit…is always a fun thing for me.¬† And Alyssa’s site is no exception.¬† It’s creative and fun and the adorable picture of her on her “About” page couldn’t be better.¬† I love it so much I think I’m going to re-do my profile image in a similar fashion.

Anyhow, thank you Alyssa for sharing these fantastic images with us.  We will be looking forward to more beautiful imagery from you in the future!

A Lovely Southern Wedding at The Grand Bohemian Hotel Asheville

Today’s wedding, photographed and submitted by Sarah Whitmeyer of Whitmeyer Photography, was held at the gorgeous Grand Bohemian Hotel Asheville.¬† With the stunning Blue Ridge Mountains as a backdrop and quaint Biltmore Village as the setting, Morgan & Jordan’s June 11, 2011 wedding was definitely the essence of pure romance.¬† With it’s rustic antler chandeliers and bronzed animal statues paired with elegant velvet drapery along side modern touches, this wedding venue is definitely one of beauty.¬† And by the looks of these fabulous images, Morgan & Jordan’s nuptials were a smashing success.¬† What do you think?

Healthy Tarragon Chicken Salad with Dried Cranberries

Sorry it’s been a little while since I blogged a recipe, I’ve been so busy…which made me think of this recipe because it’s super easy, something you can throw together for yourself or your whole family when your time is limited, but you want something healthy as well.¬† This is definitely a favorite go-to recipe for me and it’s even tastier a day or two after you make it when the seasonings have a chance to really seep in.¬† So let’s get cookin’.

Ingredients

Makes 6 servings

2 cooked boneless, skinless chicken breasts – (I often cook the chicken ahead of time, as I did here for this recipe instruction)

1 cup sliced celery

1 cup dried cranberries

1/2 cup plain nonfat yogurt

1/4 cup reduced fat mayonnaise

2 tablespoons finely chopped shallots

2 tablespoons minced fresh tarragon or 1 teaspoon dried tarragon leaves

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon white pepper

6 washed red or butter leaf lettuce leaves

12 slices whole wheat bread or 6 whole wheat buns, split

Directions

Gather ingredients.¬† As mentioned, I cooked the chicken the night before, but you can cook it whenever you like.¬† (FYI…I was a little excited about blogging a recipe again so I mistakenly did not photograph the dried cranberries, white pepper, lettuce leaves or bread.¬† But I trust you know what those look like ūüėČ

1.  Slice celery

2.  Slice chicken into cubes

3.  Add chicken, cranberries and celery to medium to large bowl and set aside

4.  Chop shallots

5.  Combine yogurt, mayonnaise, shallots, tarragon, salt and pepper in small bowl

6.  Pour yogurt/mayonnaise mixture onto chicken, celery and cranberries that you set aside.  Mix lightly

7.  Place lettuce leaves on bread or buns.  Spoon chicken mixture evenly over lettuce leaves and enjoy!

If you are watching your carbs, you can easily substitute the bread for a bed of lettuce.¬† I’ve eaten it many times as a regular salad and it’s equally as good!

As I mentioned, this is one of my favorite easy lunch recipes so I hope you and your family¬†like it as much as we do!¬† And as always…if you try this recipe please come back and share your thoughts.

Have a Fab You Bliss day!

xoxo

Stephanie
