When The Hubby and I were planning our wedding we heard many many people say, "Are you sure you want to get married between Christmas and New Years, it's such a stressful time". Other comments were more along the lines of bad timing for gift giving with the insinuation that because of Christmas, our future anniversary gifts would be a second thought. Silly, huh? Who cares what either of us gets each other for our anniversary and I wouldn't change the fact that we got married during the holidays for anything. I love this time of year and I'm still very happy to celebrate our special day
Held at Norlyn Manor in Batavia, Ohio, just outside Cincinnati, Stephanie & Stephen's outdoor wedding was mix of rustic and elegance. Their lovely ceremony was adorned with brightly colored rose petals which guests tossed at the couple as they made their way back down the aisle. And a nearby covered bridge served as a great backdrop for beautiful portraits to capture the feel of their special day. The reception decor of purple florals and candles was a perfect fit with the day and the customized, handmade cookies as favors definitely did not disappoint. Photographed by Mandy Paige Photography,
Rachel and Evan were married at Gaillardia Country Club, an elegant and sophisticated venue where old-world charm meets modern-day amenities. Located in Oklahoma City, OK, Gaillardia Country Club is a private club offering exclusive golf, dinning and community to it's members. And of course, let's not forget Gaillardia's wonderful wedding and event facilities which provided this beautiful backdrop for Rachel and Evan's wedding. Photographed by photographer Holli Brewer of HolliB Photography with design and coordination by Gibson Events, Evan and Rachel's lovely spring wedding was planned,
What's that you say? You haven't seen a wedding at Illinois Danada House? Well...today's your lucky day then! Danada House in Wheaton, Illinois is a sprawling, white brick, 19-room country home in built in 1939 by Commodity trader Daniel F. Rice and his wife Ada. It was also the the home farm of the 1965 Kentucky Derby winner Lucky Debonair, ridden by jockey Bill Shoemaker. These days, The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County owns the property and offers the home and its 780 acres, including out buildings and a 23-stall Kentucky style stable for rent for weddings, events or meetings.

Although Maddie & McLaren are from Texas, they decided to tie the knot in Saint Louis, Missouri at the upscale Renaissance Grand a premier hotel in St. Louis, situated in the heart of downtown amongst upscale Washington Avenue restaurants, fun nightlife and many attractions including the The Fabulous Fox Theater, Missouri Botanical Gardens and of course the Gateway Arch, to name a few. Maddie chose a palette of pink and aqua for their wedding which went beautifully with her porcelain skin and gorgeous red hair. Oh and we can't forget the wonderful flowers provided by Sisters Flowers which
Named for General Francis Marion, the “Swamp Fox”of the American Revolution, the Francis Marion Hotel opened in 1924 as the largest and grandest in the Carolinas. And grand it definitely still is. Which is why Nicki & Michael chose to have their wedding there with the actual ceremony in one of the lovely ballrooms in front of a gorgeous colonial fireplace. From Nicki's sweet A-line gown to her kitten heel peep toe pumps and elegantly pulled up hair, she looked stunning from head to toe. And with Michael and his groomsmen all in tan suits and the bridesmaids in pretty one shoulder
When I lived at Lake Tahoe I worked in a bakery that supplied the goodies, cakes and breads for Squaw Valley Ski Area. My favorite part was working with the breads. I really enjoyed it as it was the one recipe I was allowed to experiment with, hence my creative side was very happy. Plus there is just something wonderful about kneading dough and forming different shapes with it. This is one of the reasons The Hubby is always begging me to bake for him. Sadly, I haven't done a whole lot of baking lately so I have to say it was really nice to make this Pumpkin Monkey Bread again. And,
Today's Goldfield ghost town engagement session at Apache Jct. in Arizona has a bit of a feel good story to go along with beautiful imagery. Jennifer and Stefano won this engagement session from Photography by Verdi at a benefit for Ear Candy, a charity donating musical instruments to children in need. How fantastic is that? Anything that benefits a children's charity gets five gold stars in my book, right off the bat. But add in the unique style and playful eye of Mindi and Rich from Photography by Verdi and you have yourself one all-around awesome photo session! Jennifer and Stefano
I love it when we have the opportunity to feature a photographer more than once such as today's photographer Inku Yo from Inku Photography. We featured him back in October for this wedding and we are happy to feature him again today with this lovely modern stunner from Maritime Parc. Maritime Parc is a gorgeous venue which revitalizes the tradition of the great seaside restaurants of yesteryear for the modern diner, adding a signature spectacle: expansive views of the Hudson River and lower Manhattan that frame the scene like something out of a dream. Located in Liberty State Park, a mere
All you need to do is look around your house or yard and there are plenty of things you can turn into a beautiful homemade holiday wreath. Pretty cool, eh? In case you didn't know, I'm a huge fan of the Nate Berkus Show, which unfortunately I just heard is being cancelled. Why? I mean, it's on a 3:00 pm here in Los Angeles when nothing else is on and it provides creative information on everything from fashion, home inspiration, thrifting, food and one of my favorites...re-purposing. I swear I've gotten so many inspirational ideas from the show and basically it is my blog only on TV,
I pined this dress yesterday on Pinterest just for fun, then I decided I would make it the main piece for today's Fab You Bliss Fashion 5 because I like it that much. Isn't it pretty? As is everything else, in my opinion. And you know what's funny, when I went to select the shoes, I found that there were several shoes just like this waiting in my fashion folder on my computer. Funny, I guess I like 30s-inspired two-tone heels! But I really LOVE this whole outfit. What do you think?

Details you want, details you shall get! And in my opinion, this wedding is sure to satisfy even the most hungry for details. Meghan and Mike were married at Pere Marquette Lodge in Grafton, Illinois, a treasure-trove of nature and picturesque beauty set in the rolling bluffs just outside Grafton, Illinois. Overlooking the scenic Illinois River, Pere Marquette Lodge features 50 lodge guest rooms and 22 natural stone cabin rooms, perfect for your out of town wedding or simply a beautiful place for a weekend wedding celebration. And Meghan and Mike took full advantage of this gorgeous
