I am a huge fan of accessories. Take your favorite jeans and t-shirt, add a necklace, vest or a scarf and presto…it changes the whole outfit for the better. So…if you like accessories too, I have something fun for you today and it will forever transform your thoughts on what to do with your old t-shirts. And I have to say, I love this idea as it’s super easy, it does not involve any sewing and best of all…it’s free! All you need is an old t-shirt and a pair of scissors and you’re in business. So…let’s do it!
Get an old t-shirt that you don’t wear anymore. Yours does not need to be gathered like this, I just happened to pick one that gathers for this tutorial. An old shirt with an interesting pattern or bright color could be very pretty as well. Be sure not to use a shirt that is too big though. You should look for a ladies form fitting shirt preferably in a small size.
Cut the shirt straight across under the arm pits.
Cut fringe from bottom of shirt up towards top. I’d say about 4 to 6 inch length cuts is good.
Stretch your cuts to create a twisted and worn look to the fringe.
Open shirt, place over your head and tada…wear it around your neck as a pretty new fringe scarf.
If you try this, please come back and share your thoughts. Hope you like it.
Have a Fab You Bliss day!
