As a photographer, I find it funny that we hardly have any pictures of us displayed around our house. It’s like the Cobbler’s children who have no shoes story, don’t you think? I’m always so busy with other people’s pictures, I tend to forget about my own. Until now!
I’ve been wanting to do this project for a while as in my head it looked super cute. And luckily, in reality it turned out just as nice.
Here’s what you’ll need:
9 unfinished wood frames in different shapes
3 different colors of Satin spray paint, (preferably with Primer mixed in)
1 roll of ribbon
Tape measure
Scissors
Fabric glue
Velcro to make 9 small pieces
Step 1: Spray paint each of your frame shapes a different color. Spray 2 coats and let dry for 24 hours before moving on to next step.
Step 2: Arrange frames in a pleasing pattern of shapes and colors. I chose to make sure each row had a different shape and color pattern.
Step 3: Select pictures for your frames, cut and insert them into each frame. Set your frames out exactly how your want them hanging on the wall.
Step 4: Make sure the space between each picture frame is the same. I made mine a space of 1 and 1/2 inches.
Step 5: Measure the length of your frames for your ribbon and add 5 inches. Cut 3 pieces of ribbon the exact same size.
Step 6: Cut a piece of ribbon for the top frame to hang it on your wall. I cut mine at 15 inches. Place it where you want it on the back of the frame, then glue it in place.
Step 7: Align frame and ribbon, cut Velcro pieces and carefully attach your Velcro to your frames and the ribbon like shown below.
Once your glue has dried, cut and tie 3 bows for the top handles and arrange frames where you’d like them on a wall.
And there you have it…beautiful handmade picture frames.
Ahhh…I’m so happy I finally have some pictures of our little family up!
Have a Fab You Bliss day!
xoxo
