Aside from picking your furniture and paint color, I think room styling is the most important design element to really help a room come to life. Yet, it’s often the most difficult part of the design process because many people just don’t know where to begin. Don’t worry though, you’re not alone. There are millions of people out there with the exact same issue. That’s why good designers are in high demand and also why they can charge so much.
But if you’re like most of us who can’t afford to hire an interior designer, don’t fret…I have the answer for you. And it’s really quite simple because it’s exactly what the pros do…you need to become an inspiration collector. Yep, that’s right, it’s as easy as that. Every great room design starts with a collection of inspiration, whether it’s compiled in folders on your computer or Pinterest or one of the many free or paid for room design programs out there, the basic premise is to collect ideas for what you like then implement them into your own space. And whether that means making some of the accessories that inspire you like I do a lot or simply buying them, the idea is to have a direction. Below are some great places from which I feel offer some great inspiration.
