Pretty Clothes & REALLY Good Photography Makes My Heart Go-A-Flutter

Like the title says, mix together pretty clothes and really good photography and my heart just goes-a-flutter! And when I say good photography, I mean Jose Villa good. Yes…that good!

Yup, amazing photographer Jose Villa teamed up with Ruche to shoot these gorgeous images for ShopRuche.com’s The Tuscan Sun Lookbook. And I think they turned out absolutely fabulous! I love the romantic, yet flirty feel and the all around styling is simply marvelous. So…I’ve pulled together some of my favorite images from the bunch to share with you here. But be sure to stop by Ruche to check out their entire line. Enjoy!

Ahhh…The Islands of Hawaii, Pretty Much A Perfect Place For a Destination Wedding

Ahhh…a destination wedding in Hawaii. If The Hubby and I were to renew our vows, Hawaii would definitely be on the short list of destinations for it. A couple of our closest friends got married in Hawaii a few years back and it is still one of the best weddings we’ve been to. True, you may not have as many guests who can make it if you don’t already live there, but destination weddings are really neat because since people are coming from so far away, typically they turn the trip into a vacation. So…you’ll actually get to enjoy some time with your guests before and/or after the wedding.

June and Nolan were married this past January in lovely Ko Olina Hawaii at the Place of Joy Chapel. Their ceremony was very intimate and private as only their closest family and friends were there to witness it and celebrate with them after in a traditional Hawaiian Luau. The following day, Blue Dandelion Photography accompanied them for some beautiful day-after images at one of the secret beaches in Ko Olina. Enjoy!

Speaking of beautiful…Mary herself is one absolutely stunning bride, don’t you think? She’s such a beautiful person, inside and out. And you’d have to be blind not to see the love that Brian feels for her as it’s completely written all over his face.

I’m so happy to have been able to photograph this wedding! So without further wait, here’s part two.

An Abundance of Love + A “Wet Knot” at This Gorgeous Colorado Wedding at Cielo (Part 1)

So…remember how I took some time off at the beginning of July. Well, part of it was for our vacation…but the other part was to photograph the beautiful wedding I’m featuring today. The bride Mary and I have been friends for a long time, so in addition to watching her and Brian fall in love…I also had the honor of being able to photograph their amazing and fun wedding in Colorado.

Although we all live in California, Brian’s family is from Colorado where his aunt Roz owns a lovely wedding and event facility in Castle Rock called Cielo. So after a two year engagement the day had finally come, everyone was there, friends had flown in from all over the world, all the details were in place and everything was perfect and not even the rain that fell throughout the day could put a damper on the happy spirit.

Yes, the wedding was supposed to be outside and we did wait until the very last minute to make the decision, but ultimately it was decided to bring it in. As you can see though, with the giant sliding doors from Cielo’s dinning hall where the ceremony was held, it was almost as if we were outside anyway. I like to think rain on your wedding day is a sign of good luck, but my favorite “rainy” wedding day quote is this, “A wet knot is harder to untie”. Genius, huh?

Oh yes…I’m also showing several of Mary and Brian’s “First Look” images here to show how it doesn’t matter where you photograph a first look. We had to have it inside in one of the dressing rooms because of the rain, but you don’t see any of that…all you can see is the love and happiness between the two of them. Beautiful, isn’t it?

So…here’s part one of Mary and Brian’s Colorado wedding.

Your Kitchen is The Heart of Your Home, Shouldn’t It Be Magical?

Of any place in the house, I believe the kitchen is the heart of a home. It is in my house at least…and my mom’s and my sister’s and my aunt’s…and so many of my friend’s. The kitchen just seems to be the place where everyone likes to congregate at gatherings. It’s where your loved ones lean up against the counter to sip their morning coffee before starting a hectic day. It’s where kids sprawl out their school work on an island or dinette table and adults read their papers or stack their mail. It’s where everyone likes to be at parties, centered around the cook and all the yummy food he or she is conjuring up. Yes…the kitchen is where magic happens, so shouldn’t it be just as wonderful looking?

Well…if you’re kitchen isn’t already magical, here are some fabulous ones to give you some inspiration.

Style Post with Kelly Swanson Photography + Fashion Blogger Rachelle From Discovering Elegance

Last month, I received an email from the lovely and talented Kelly of Kelly Swanson Photography asking if I’d be interested in this styled shoot she shot with fashion blogger friend Rachelle from Discovering Elegance. You know when you meet someone for the first time and you just absolutely click…like you’ve been friends forever? Well…that’s exactly what I felt about these two from Vancouver, BC. This sunlit styled session they shot together is so fantastic, don’t you think? And the colors that Rachelle is wearing are soooo much my favorite right now. I just adore how lovely they are!

Rachelle is wearing a sweet cream dress by H&M topped with a blush pink Morgan de Toi jacket. Her wonderful miss-match of bracelets are from H&M, Forever 21bfrend. And the gold and copper watch is a Michael Kors. But I think I’m particularly drawn to that great necklace, which is also from H&M. And finally, her purse and shoes are both from Aldo.

Super cute, huh?
