This past Saturday was Jessica Frey’s Wedding Styled Workshop in Malibu, California where I had the honor of speaking on the ins and outs of getting published. This was the second workshop this year that Jessica put on and also the second time I had the opportunity to speak on this topic. Although this workshop was a little different in that Jessica and I collaborated a bit more on the event styling. Of course that was fun in and of itself because we always work so well together and as you’ll see…it turned out soooo pretty!
Before I get into these gorgeous images, I have to say a few words about the benefits of taking part in a workshop like this. First off, if you are looking to expand your business, whether you are a photographer, a blogger or even an event planner, no matter what level you are, I highly, HIGHLY recommend signing up for the next one we do. Not only will you have the opportunity to learn from those of us scheduled to talk about taking better pictures, interacting with clients and models, the business of photography, technology, marketing and of course, getting published…you’ll also have the amazing opportunity of getting to know some incredible people in your fellow attendees who are there to learn just like you. Take it from me, I met Jessica at a workshop just like this a few years ago and while I learned a great deal through that event, I think the best thing I came away with was the friendship I made with her. That is priceless
Also, I can’t forget to mention the awesome images you’ll be able to capture and add to your portfolio like the ones below. And of course, if you are a bride here looking for inspiration…boy did you come to the right place!
The Hubby and I…and our cute pup Quinley also worked as bridal party models for the event. As you can see, here they are. Obviously I’m not here because I’m taking pictures. I will show some of the ones shot of me, Kevin and Quinely at another time
A few of the next images were taken in FULL sun. I added them here to show how the exact same table can look different under different lighting conditions. And although there are some harsh shadows here, especially in the next one down…I’m really drawn to the drama.
Trevor and Jessica, our bride and groom for the day, are a real “newlywed” couple. In fact, Jessica Frey just shot their wedding this past June. Aren’t they adorable? And believe it or not, they drove all the way from San Francisco to Malibu just to shoot with us for the day. Isn’t that awesome! You guys are so great!!!
