Chris and YooJin grew up in the same neighborhood and went to high school together for four years, but not once did they run into each other. It’s funny how fate works, huh? Then another four years passed while both attended UBC for business and still their paths did not cross. It wasn’t until the two were on the same volleyball team in their last year of university that they finally met, which is bizarre in itself since YooJin is not really a sports person. But still, the timing wasn’t right yet as Chris was off to Calgary soon after graduation.
Two years later when Chris returned from Calgary, he and YooJin finally connected. It was at a work function and among the hundreds of people, he spotted YooJin eyeing him from across the room. And that was it…the time was finally right. All those years of walking by each other and never meeting fell away in an instant. That moment was meant for them. And now, if you ask Chris, he would say the happiest time of his day is when their eyes connect…that’s what brings a smile to his face and that’s what he looks forward to every single day for the rest of their lives.
Photographed by Denise Lin Photography, Chris and YooJin wanted to use timeless and meaningful pieces as inspiration for their engagement session. They included something old and classic…grandmother’s lace blanket and mother’s Royal Albert teacups with pretty florals, something classic…a timeless strand of pearls and finally, something that gets better with age…champagne. In addition they gathered some their favorite things…pink peonies, delicious pastries and French macaroons, which both YooJin and Chris love!
