Timing is everything. However, in Caitlyn & Brett’s case, perfect timing turned into something unexpected and untimely.
While on a weekend leave during an away call of duty, F-16 Air Force pilot Brett planned a romantic weekend getaway for him and his girlfriend Caitlyn where he proposed to her. Of course she said yes, but their blissful engagement was cut short as Brett was immediately called away for a year deployment in the Middle East.
With lots of help from her loving family, Caitlyn did a beautiful job planning while Bret was away. Mixing old with new, she wanted their wedding to reflect modern and vintage elements and echo their love of travel as well. Some of my favorite details were the suitcase display filled with family mementos and surrounded by old photographs, post cards from around the world used as table numbers and luggage tags as escort cards. Photographed by M2 Photography, while Caitlyn and Brett’s engagement may have been off time, their wedding was perfectly timed in every way.

Oh my gosh that yellow field of flowers would have sold me on the venue right then and there. So pretty!
Hey!! What a lovely wedding. I am planning my wedding 6.14.14, and I am having a travel themed wedding. I was wonder…. How did you make the decorations for the guest setting arrangements?
Hi Kay…thanks for the comment and congrats on your upcoming wedding. Unfortunately, the information for how to make the escort tags was not provided with the submission. However, if you enter “DIY luggage escort tags” into Pinterest or Google, you’ll definitely come up with a wealth of information to show you how to make them. Hope this helps. Thanks for following!
