Lovely FYB reader Kristin writes,
“I’m in love with Baby’s Breath, lace, burlap and the colors champagne, gold and pink. I really want to include all of these in my wedding, but I’m afraid with so many different colors and textures it will look too jumbled. Do you have any advice?”
Why, yes…Kristin, I definitely have some advice! First let me say I love all of these colors and textures as well. And while one would think mixing them all together might be too busy, they actually compliment each other quite well.
Let’s have a look…
Here you can see the use of gold with the Chivari chairs and Baby’s Breath decorating the edges of the aisle as well as the alter. Now imagine your bridesmaid’s standing off to the side wearing these dresses below in shades of champagne, gold and pink. Can you picture them there? They look pretty, don’t they?
These invitations below with the lace, pink and burlap hue will also tie in the colors and general theme with the textures. Sometimes stationery is left out of the planning process. Don’t let this happen to you. It’s important to tie your announcements, save-the-dates, invitations and other paper products in with the tone or theme of the big day itself as it’s a lovely prelude for your guests to look forward to come the big day.
Now see below, here’s a perfect example of how well the different colors and textures you’ve picked can go beautifully together. I say bravo my dear, you are definitely drawn to lovely!
As you can see, the Baby’s breath and burlap go beautifully. But instead of using a plain white table cloth, I’d actually go with a lace one to tie in more of that texture. And for your groom and his groomsmen, go for a dark suit like these below, with a black tie for your man and gold or champagne ties for the groomsmen. And how about this gold lace cake? I think it’s stunning!
