It’s SUMMER time…YAY!
Time to wear short shorts, flowy dresses, and peel off as many layers as possible. That’s what I do at least!
Yet even though during the heat and humidity of these warm weather months, many of us prefer dressing with the least amount of clothing possible, we still want to look chic…right? So whether you’re planning your wedding, newly married or happily single…every gal should make creating a fun summer style a “must do”.
And since I’m an extremely visual person, I like to collect and storyboard images with styles I’d like to incorporate into my own looks. Here are some of my style options for this summer and how I go about choosing.

I’ve used this method for quite some time now and it really works for everything from hairstyles to fashion. The idea is train yourself to pick images with models that have the closest body type, hair color and style, and facial structure as you. And in so doing, you’ll pretty much know for sure how certain styles will look on you. Genius, huh? I’m of a similar frame and tend to lean towards the styles of fashion bloggers Alexandra from Lovely Pepa and Rach for Pink Peonies, so you’ll see me featuring their looks a quite a bit.
Don’t worry if you can’t do this perfectly, just use it as one possible guide.

Don’t be afraid to mix-up your style with lots of accessories and patterns you wouldn’t normally wear. It’s so easy to get stuck in a rut with you style. Don’t let that happen!
Instead, learn to be bold. Try new looks and experiment with flair.

In the same way you should experiment with accessories and bold patters, there are times when simplicity is the key to feeling cool and looking that way too. I’ve mentioned many times before that even though I love fashion and dressing up, there’s always something to be said about relaxing in a pair of over-sized pants and a simple t-shirt. The same goes for a baseball shirt, jeans and a ponytail. They’re like comfort’s uniform for me!

Dresses should be a summer staple for every girl. Long or short, patterned or solid, to wear out or simply to cover up after the beach…the ease of any pretty dress definitely makes a summer wardrobe complete.

And finally, it wouldn’t be summer without the addition of a hat or two. Personally, I’m a hat-aholic! I love them…from straw hats to baseball caps to fedoras, hats are definitely a style fun to play with!
