Today’s Ford House engagement session looks almost as if it were shot in a time long since past.
On a lovely day in September, Amanda and John joined Patrick Hadley Photography on the grounds of the Edsel and Eleanor Ford House for a simple shoot to highlight the couple and this amazing property.
Named as one of the “7 American Castles” by CNN, the Edsel & Eleanor Ford House tells the story of home life for a prominent American family. Built on the shores of Lake St. Clair, at a place known locally as Gaukler Pointe, the Ford’s impressive yet unpretentious home also reflects their love of family and their mutual passion for art and quality design.
In keeping with the incredible yet natural home, Amanda and John were dressed in simple, yet classic attire with Amanda’s striking strawberry blonde hair taking center stage. And with their regal look and genuine spirit, the couple could easily pass for a prince and princess in a time long ago. In reality Amanda and John met at Michigan State University through mutual friends. Their first date was at a little bar called Peanut Barrel, and on January 29th 2011 John asked Amanda “Is it okay if I call you my girlfriend?” How sweet is that? They moved in together that December and adopted a pug/chihuahua mix named Byron.
Amanda says, “John is the sweetest guy I’ve ever met and I feel so lucky to have him in my life. “Love you maximum” is our little saying to each other because it really is true.”
Thanks for stopping by!
