Built in 1654 and lovingly restored by Marion Duckworth Smith and her husband in 1979, the Lent Riker Smith Homestead is the oldest private dwelling in New York City.
Little Vintage Rentals had the honor of exploring this magical space just as the garden was at its fullest. Coupled with magnificent light, this space proved to be a truly remarkable venue for this romantic secret garden wedding inspiration.
With Joyeuse Photography on hand to capture their brilliant styling and designs, the team’s vision was to create an outdoor celebration for all seasons. Their color palette was full of blue and purple tones to compliment the greenery of the natural environment. Delicate mid century patterned china was placed atop layered lace tablecloths and paired with classic bentwood chairs to create a serene table design. And a piano bench with vintage blue damask velvet fabric was used as a sweet serving station for blueberry champagne spritzers.

From Mandy of Little Vintage Rentals:
A special thanks to Marion for welcoming our team into her home. Tahni of Joyeuse Photography did a spectacular job capturing the whimsical atmosphere.
Jenah from Xylem & Phloem infused purple artichokes into the bouquets and centerpiece for depth and texture. Her true handiwork is showcased with the intricate dried flower crown in the same hues.
For make up Heather Conlan chose a natural look with a hint of pink on the lips. For hair, Maryanna Fitzgerald used a double barrel curling iron to achieve natural looking curls for two distinct hair styles.
The dresses were from The Cotton Bride, which specializes in natural and lightweight bridal gowns. This trio of dresses showcased are completely different in style but each lighter than air.
Our dessert table favorites were the homemade pistachio mint marshmallows and naked cake with vanilla bean butter cream by Chic Sugars .
Our “bride” Linda Ngo, wore an I Wish You necklace from Confetti by Annette. This piece doubles as the perfect bridal party gift filled with 7 wishes for its recipient.
Last but not least, the invitation suite from Oliver and Ruby was a floral dream in our blue and purple color story.
The mystique of the Lent Riker Smith Homestead clearly exhibits itself in these photographs. It was truly amazing to find a home in New York City that old and that lovingly cared for.
Thanks for stopping by!
