Ever since this lovely submission from Kaysha Weiner Photographer came in I’ve been so looking forward to sharing it. Not only because this aviation themed wedding at Wayfarers Chapel in Palos Verdes, California has some incredibly fun inspiration, but because Kevin and I attended a wedding at this gorgeous location and I can speak from experience to its fantastic beauty.
Framed with wood beams, stone, and incredible surround glass making it feel as if you’re outside even though the chapel is enclosed, this magnificent site overlooking the Pacific Ocean is one of the most spectacular venues to have a wedding. Lucky for us bride and groom Andrea and Jimi thought so too having tied the knot there last summer.
Other than the location I’m really loving the theme that this happy couple chose and how they carried it through so uniquely. The airplane escorts, the flight log guest book, and the oak sign shaped like an airplane carved with the words “We’ve been cleared for take off” are all so perfect, don’t you think?
From the couple:
It was very important that our wedding truly captured our fun loving relationship! I would have to say that our theme was FUN with threads of romance, aviation and sentiment bringing it all together. For the ceremony we chose a truly romantic chapel in Palos Verdes CA. Wayfarers Chapel transports you to an enchanted, whimsical place that doesn’t need anything but the warmth of family and friends to be the perfect setting for a wedding celebration. An absolutely breathtaking experience! For the wedding the FUN was with the music a “melodic instrumental mix of our favorite Deadmau5 song carried my wife and her father down the isle as I stood at the alter.”
For the aviation and sentiment uncle Tom made a beautiful oak sign, shaped like an airplane, that our nephews carried down the aisle. It was carved with the words “We’ve been cleared for take off.” The reception also stayed true to our vision. From Airplane place cards to beautiful centerpieces and decor, all made by my dear friends (Did I mention this was their first time doing a wedding and they also made the bouquets?!?!) to dancing and drinking the night away, Love was Definitely in the Air and we could not have asked for a more perfect day!! Lucky for us Kaysha Weiner Photographer captured our wedding with stunning authenticity that will live on forever!! I get teary eyed just thinking about it!
Thanks for stopping by!
