What’s that thing people say, “Never date someone you work with”? I think former Starbucks co-workers Stephanie and Ken would disagree. In fact, since we’re featuring their lovely DIY Bonnie and Clyde era style wedding photographed by Alison Mish Photography, let’s just throw that saying right out of the window. Sometimes rules are made to be broken, especially when the breaking turns out this well!
I love how these two incorporated a few Starbucks products into their big day, as well as the fun trail mix and pie bars. Add in the rustic style of the White Barn venue and this wedding couldn’t have been more perfect.

From the bride, Stephanie:
Ken and I met on my first day working at Starbucks as a Barista. He had been a partner for 5 years at that point. And after working together for only few hours, Ken went to the back room, found my phone number and texted me asking if I had a boyfriend. When I told him no, it took him four days to convince me to go on a date with him and we have been together ever since.
Our wedding theme was a bit rustic and vintage with inspiration from the 20s and 40s. I like to compare the “feel” of it to the Bonnie and Clyde era (how they dressed and looked). Basically the entire wedding was DIY, so my mom and I put a lot of work and personal touches into the day. We decided to do a pie bar instead of a cake because the groom loves pie and it went with our theme. My dad handmade two corn hole sets for the guests to enjoy during the cocktail hour. We found vintage soda bottles from the 40s to incorporate with the seating cards that act as a favor as a thank you to our guests. We hunted through every craft store and antique shop (multiple times) to create the perfect look for our centerpieces, even painting and sanding the mason jars ourselves. The trail mix bar allowed our guests to make a personalized bag of trail mix to snack on after hours of dancing! We hope everyone loved our wedding as much as we loved it!
Thanks for stopping by!
