Happy Sum It Saturday friends! This week has been lovely and crazy and eventful. We’ve been working hard on finishing some details for my office. The frame between my space and the pool room went up. It looks amazing, it just needs some sanding and paint, then the barn door hardware and French doors can go up. I also refurbished an old dresser for additional storage and have been working on closet storage for all my craft supplies. I’ll share some images with you soon.
I’ve also been having lots of fun reviewing resumes coming in for the positions we have available. I’m so excited to be adding new people to the blog, and I’m thrilled with the quality of applicants. YAY…exciting times, exciting times!
Speaking of exciting news, A Beautiful Mess had some extra of it to share this week. In case you didn’t already see, I’m helping share their fun news here. For about a year now, Elsie and Emma have been working on a new app called Party Party to add to their already popular app A Beautiful Mess. Hop on over to check it out…it looks like loads of fun!

I am a soup girl for sure. Even when it’s hot out, I love me some soup. But especially right now since I had some dental surgery this week and can only eat…you guessed it…soup.
Needless to say, this Corn Crab Chowder recipe from SF Girl By Bay definitely caught my eye. Looks yummy!

Confession, I’m an introvert. Eek, I know, it’s scary admitting something so personal on the Internet for the world to see. But hey, as I’ve said before when I’ve shared personal issues like this, if my doing so will help any of you feel better in whatever way, it’s so worth it. In fact, in the same way my sharing might help you – through her book #GIRLBOSS which I just reviewed a few days ago – I was relieved to discover Sophia Amoruso, Nasty Gal’s Founder & CEO is an introvert as well. Good company!
Being an introvert does not really mean I’m shy, although I was painfully in high school and into college. No, being an introvert simply means I’m happier and more energized when I’m alone or with my husband, able to write or create or craft, etc. So when I saw this post on Cupcakes and Cashmere about networking tips for introverts, it was like they’d written it just for me. And you if you’re an introvert too!

Creative refurbishing always catches my eye. Mission accomplished with this DIY nailhead vanity from Girl In The Garage. Genius design…and so simple. So jealous I didn’t think of it.

I love it when people create traditions to honor special moments in their lives. On Valentine’s Day every year – rather than going out – Kevin and I will prepare a five star meal at home, usually one of the Top Chef meals from past seasons. It’s a fun thing since we both love to cook. And I know it may sound silly since we’ve been together for eight years, but the tradition really does bond us even more.
Sherry and John from Young House Love have a sweet tradition with their anniversary where they do fun “stuff” like recreating their wedding menu, taking a day trip near their engagement spot or cooking up one of their favorite honeymoon meals, among other things. Check out their post from this week sharing what they did to celebrate year seven. Love it!

This post really struck a cord with me, and it couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. We’ve all heard it, “Comparison is the thief of joy”, right? Well Camille Styles featured a thoughtful post with ways to avoid the comparison game which I think everyone, especially in blogging, should read.
As someone who’s been on both sides of the comparison fence, I wish more people would embrace #2 on her list. If anyone in your life is doing well, please take the time to realize they’ve worked hard to make their success happen. Yes, it’s sometimes difficult if you’re not experiencing the same success, (at the moment), but they deserve your support and true happiness nonetheless. Speaking from experience, even if you don’t say it, people can feel your jealousy.
As I said, I’ve been on both ends of this and just like Camille suggests, it’s always best to be supportive, never jealous. Words to live by!

Not only is she a fashion maven, but Rachel from Pink Peonies has some great kitchen skills as well. This week she served up this amazing looking summer salad. Be sure to check it out.
This “Busy” crop top from Shop Dandy boutique is so adorably cute. Don’t you think? Personally, I might need it in a size a little longer. Or maybe I should just get in better shape? Nah, option one seems easier, ha!
