It’s that time again, time for our mid-summer roundup of fall fashion trends to get you ready for fall. I know, it seems like summer just started. But fall is coming, time to start planning for your fall fashion wardrobe. And since I am secretly squealing with delight at the thought of buying new clothes, I’m guessing you are too.
As with all of our fashion posts, (or anyone’s for that matter), these are simply suggestions. Not all styles will work for every body type and personality, nor every location weather wise. Shorts in fall will work fine for me in California, but probably not in Chicago or New York. It is your job as a “fashionista” to take style suggestions and make them work for you, to create, tweek, and turn trends such as these below into your own. PS…wearable means trends from the runway that regular women can actually wear. So without further ado, here are our 13 wearable fashion trends for fall 2014.
Orange Fashion
You might be saying, “Oh no, orange is not for me.” Don’t worry, I said that for a long time too. But I’ve changed my tune. I’m ready to give this look a try as I think it’s fun and vibrant. Also, it comes in so many different shades, you’re bound to find one you’ll absolutely love.

Swinging 60s
The 60s came back a little while ago and I’m happy the style has been sticking around. Some of it at least. Fashions like this ASOS dress below are so much fun, and pretty too!

Anything Ladylike
This trend is one I’m fully on-board with. As you can probably tell from the design of this blog, I gravitate towards pretty, feminine and ladylike. Are you keen on this trend as well?

Western Fashion
Western wear is huge right now. And it will be in fall as well. What do you think? Love it or hate it? I’m kind of lovin’ it.

Wrap Coats
Ever since I can remember I’ve always gravitated towards coats. When I was eight years old I begged my mom for a camel colored double breasted wool coat that was way too much for a kid my age. But that’s how it’s always been with me and fashion. So this is another trend I’m all for.

Pastels For Fall
Lucky for us, the pastels we loved for spring and summer are sticking around for fall as well.

Knit Wear
I’m not sure knit wear has never not been in style. I could pretty much live in it. So it’s lovely to see it’s officially being listed as a trend this year.

Matchy Matchy
While the prints in the image below are not identical matches, I thought it was cute nonetheless. This trend takes a pattern and uses it for both tops and bottoms. Admittedly, this trend’s not for me. But I’d love to hear your take on it.

Dress Over Pants
I’m a dress girl. I’ve said it before and I will keep saying it. So I’ve definitely worn this trend before. A cute dress over a pair of jeans may sound funny to some, but done right and it’s really fun. I’m definitely loving this trend.

Norse Inspired Wear
Norse inspired wear covers a lot of territory. The patterns can range from the clearly obvious Icelandic sweater, (or Lopi) to something that looks closer to native American Indian. This is another lovely trend I’m looking forward to adding more of.

Ladylike Leopard
What does ladylike Leopard mean? Well, just as it sounds. Anything ladylike, a demure dress, feminine touches, modest lines…all with a Leopard print. Love it!

Sneakers With Dresses & Skirts
This one is fun as well. I’ve been wearing my Converse with with skirts and dresses for years. But this trend aims for sneakers like shown below. I might have to sit with this idea a bit, but…I kind of think it’s cute. How about you?

Monochromatic Grey
And finally…to one of my favorites, monochromatic grey. I’m obsessed with this hue right now. Probably because it’s a huge influence in the design of my office. But it also looks beautiful on just about anyone. And the look of all grey, especially in different shades and patterns, is definitely appealing to me. Do you like it?
