From Michelle, the photographer:
I had been thinking about doing a nautical stylized session for a few months, but I was waiting on the perfect team to bring it to life. Once I saw Camille’s work, I reached out to her with a vague semblance of this vision I had rolling around in my head; she immediately was on board.
We began collaborating and drafting out what we both were inspired by and what look we wanted to achieve. Five months of collaboration, and planning, and meeting, and preparing, and networking, over many cups of coffee (and wine) was all brought together on one perfect cloudy day. The result was magnificent and incredibly refreshing.
Camille brought it all together with an emphasis on Pantone colors she anticipates seeing more of this spring. There is the hint of the ocean in the shoot, but there is a freedom in there as well, which you can see in the bohemian elements. The headband the bride wore is ornate but at the same time not traditional, giving her a pulled together, but yet bohemian look. The grooms outfit, while casual and loose, was just alive with colors all found on our idea board. The overall look is elegant, which is something I, as a photographer, had wanted, but also has a subtle gypsy-like wild feel too it which Camille felt was essential in making it all pop.
The bed and breakfast, Windemere Inn by the Sea, is a hidden gem on Melbourne Florida’s shores. It is a quaint and classic hideaway that has an atmosphere of tranquility in every room. We were able to enjoy its calming effect while we were getting preparing and while the models were getting ready. The veranda right on the beach was the perfect spot for vows and a very intimate and personal reception. Ahna Uttech from Beautiful Bouquet Florist provided the most beautiful bridal bouquet and boutonniere as well as the table arrangements. Not only was she able to achieve Camille’s look but they photographed beautifully. The cake provided by Jessica from Flour & Spice Boutique was also absolutely magnificent. Stephanie from Steph Piontkowski Design did a phenomenal job of capturing the whimsical-ness and the colors from the shoot.
Everything came together so beautifully and with personal touches from each vendor that it was absolutely a dream capturing each shot. Each vendors interpretation of Camille and I’s vision was spot on, intricate and so detailed. One very interesting part of this whole shoot is the models: Desiree and Carnell.I happened to meet Desiree when I was out shopping and found out that she was a model. I, without hesitating, told her she was perfect for a project I was working on and asked her to be a part of it, she agreed. As we were going through the planning process Camille and I decided to include a groom in our shoot. I asked Desiree if she would mind if we included her husband on the shoot. She, on his behalf said yes, and told me they had actually gotten married at the courthouse and had never had a real wedding or wedding photos. I couldn’t believe it. Not only would we have a bride and groom who were actually husband and wife, but we would also get to bless them with the wedding they never got to have! It could not have fallen together more perfectly.
From Camille, the stylist:
Intimate, breathtaking, serene; it was a perfect collaboration in so many ways. With that said I was ecstatic to join this team of talented professionals. As a wedding consultant and coordinator I am always delighted to transform someone’s vision into a reality. Michelle presented a vision: nautical, elegant, and winter; and from there it was my mission to design and style a shoot that would enhance the natural beauty and surrounding elements of Windemere Inn by the Sea. This quaint hidden gem, intimately tucked alongside Melbourne beach, is an ideal place for a small beach wedding. The venue – breathtaking and unexpected, the models – a perfect pair, the colors – vibrant and trendy, the vendors – phenomenal!
With the perfect setting we choose three main colors: coral (camellia), teal (feldspar) and winter white accentuated by (royal blue) and gold. We embarked on the elegant and charming details of nautical living; netting, driftwood, succulents, seashells, and pearls. The ratan glass top sweetheart table, based in gold, was highlighted with a teal (feldspar) ikat boho-chic print to base the table setting. Elegant gold chargers anchored the thrifty place setting of vintage, Old English Johnson Brothers, dinner plates trimmed with gold and feldspar and complimenting cobalt glass dessert plates with vibrant touch of coral napkins. The trendy boho unfrosted wedding caked was unexpectedly adorned with pearls and swirls to replicate the beauty in ocean waves.
The bride donned a strapless dress with delicate pearls and lace oyster design pattern, we then completed her look with a pearl-drops boho head band completed the look and pearl jewelry from Wesche. The hand tied bouquet was alluringly gorgeous; succulents with a complimenting boutonniere for the groom. All in all, I could not be more pleased with the result. It was a nautical masterpiece of love.

Thank you for featuring us! š
It’s our pleasure!
These colors are amazing!
Love the idea of putting the groom in bright blues!
I adore their style – perfect for the beach!!
Such beautiful, vibrant colors!
There are so many fantastic details: both pair of shoes, the headpiece, the jewelry placed in the cactus flower. It is a great concept for the palette as well, with the groom wearing the blues and the bride with the coral bouquet. Beautiful!
Such a bold and beautiful colour palette!
