Photographer Gabrielle of Gabrielle von Heyking Photographie says her love for all things fairytale began when as a little girl she discovered Disney’s Cinderella movie. More recently, when she found out Disney was coming out with a non-animated version featuring one of her favorite actresses from Downton Abbey, she immediately began planning this Cinderella fairytale inspired styled shoot.
Using French Provincial garden party influences fit for a royal family, that just happened to include Cinderella, the color theme carried throughout was a mix of golds, silver, light blue, pink, and mint. Everything was meant to be a bit over the top with luxe linens, dresses, and a resplendent table fit for royalty, just the way Gabrielle dreamed it would be!
From the photographer:
The ball gowns for the shoot came from Wildflower Bridal and represented what we think Cinderella would wear if she were a modern 21st century girl. The first gown featured a strapless neckline with voluminous tulle skirt and is made by Tara Keely and the second gown had a halter neckline with jewelled belted accent at the waist and is a Blush by Hayley Paige gown.
The suit for the shoot came from Mitchell’s Tuxedos and is designed by Allure Bridals: Allure Men. The vintage silver blue sofa, white chiavari chairs, fine china, gold tassels, silverware and staging/styling of the shoot were provided by Candice Hightower from Mingle: Vintage Event Rentals and Event Planning. Candice has this amazing ability to blend various pieces together at a shoot and create something that looks so symbiotic and effortless…like it was always made to go together that way.
When choosing a location for this styled session I wanted to find a wedding venue that had a gorgeous outdoor garden space and Melange B&B in Hendersonville, NC absolutely delivered on that with their stunning courtyard, ivy wrapped gazebo, and blooming azalea bushes. The chandeliers, gloves, purse, mini crown placeholders, blue Annie Sloan chalk painted desk, perfume bottle, pearls, and gold chairs were provided by The Pink House. All florals and floral containers were made and provided by Flora. I especially fell in love with the way that Melissa wrapped velvet and satin ribbons around the bridal bouquet and left the ends unfinished with dangling ribbons draped down the side of the bouquet.
The gold velour ottoman, silver candelabra’s, silver table stand holder, and round table were provided by Classic Event Rentals. All linens and napkins for the shoot were provided by Nuage Designs. The wedding invitation, place cards, and table number were designed and printed by Macon York: Letterpress Wedding Invitation Designer. The decadent wedding cake and desserts were provided by the talented team of Colleen and Clair from Ruth & Ranshaw. I knew that I wanted gold incorporated into the wedding cake and I felt like Colleen and Clair did that in a way that was elegant and tastefully fit an outdoor garden fete.Makeup was provided by Melissa Alamo from Pop Of Color Makeup. The hair was provided by Hanna Casey from Ananda West Hair Studio.
It is a magical thing when you see the vision you have for a shoot come to life in a such a beautiful way, especially when you get to work with such a talented and passionate team of vendors in the process. I hope you will be as charmed with this Cinderella Styled Shoot as we were when we saw everything pulled together!I think that it is the pursuit of love, beautiful moments, and a just a bit of magic that inspires all of us wedding vendors to keep doing what we do because it is those effervescent moments that we experience on a wedding day or at a styled shoot that inspire us to dream big and keep creating.
Thanks for stopping by!
