Among my family and friends, and anyone who follows this blog regularly, it is well known that Venice is my most favorite city in the world. When I visited Italy several years ago, I purposely got lost in the city, venturing over bridges into the depths of the area following whatever interesting thing caught my attention.
Captured by Elisa D’Inca Photographer with styling by Snowdrops Weddings and Events, this romantic and artisitc Venice destination wedding shoot represents the absolute beauty of this floating city that I love so much!
From The Planner
“My inspiration for this photo shoot comes from my love for Venice. I wanted to show an elegant, romantic destination wedding in this city.
To me, the city of Venice is unique. It makes me think of timeless beauty, romantic elopements, unforgettable honeymoons and memories that will never fade. I wanted the images to ignite powerful emotions in the viewer and the video that accompanies and complements them to remind the viewer of a Federico Fellini movie, of magic and dreams. All suppliers involved are Italian, and I chose them for the quality and the unique, artisanal touches of their work.
The location for this dream wedding is the stunning Hotel Ca’ Sagredo, one of Venice oldest and most prestigious Palazzos, sitting on the Canal Grande and minutes away from the Rialto Bridge. The elegance and the intricacy of the decoration in the Hotel speak volumes of the glorious past of this city and are the perfect backdrop for my bride.
I decided to build my colour palette around an intense shade of Bordeaux, and to complement it with delicate peach, pink ivory and blush shades. I wanted my bride to have two looks, a breath-taking one for the ceremony and a more relaxed for the reception, both with a subtle element of sensuality. Francesca Zarabara Mua created a first look, with an intense lip and a delicate make up on the eyes, underlined by peachy tones on the eyebrows, and a second look with bordeaux smoky-eyes, while the lips were kept nude. Daniela Grava of Il Pettine executed a very sophisticated up do in the shape of a rose, to then transition to loose, voluminous hair.
The bride wears an ethereal gown made of layers and layers of pure silk, embellished by antique decorations on the waist, designed and beautifully handcrafted by Viola Per Sempre. The heart shaped neckline adds a touch of extreme femininity.
The stunning bridal bouquet and stylish arrangement for the table were provided by La Dogaressa, one of the oldest and most noted florists in Venice. I loved how they used a variety of precious and unusual flowers for this shoot. For the table setting, I coupled antique gold decorated porcelain plates, kindly provided by Marisa Bedana, with transparent-gold plates and colourful napkins for a more modern twist to it. Food is a very important element of an Italian wedding; therefore I also wanted to have a luxuriously decadent ice cream dessert table. Next to the ice cream, delicate favour boxes, designed as all the rest of our beautifully simple stationery from Partecipazioni in Karta.
I wanted these images to be magical, and this wedding to be a bride’s dream. To help me bring this vision to life, I chose the very feminine and artistic photographic style of Elisa D’Inca Photography and the sheer talent and creativity of Fabio Tabacchi for the videography.”
