Are you a fan of the works of J. R. R. Tolkien? You know, The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, and The Silmarillion, to name a few of the novels he penned. These were some of my favorite books as a child. The Middle Earth world that Mr. Tolkien created came completely alive for me. It probably was one of the first book series where I could picture what the author meant to convey. And so the Shire and Rivendell and even the Lonely Mountain are just some of the places in his works that still live in my mind today.
So, when Dan Stewart Photography sent over this intimate Middle Earth Shire themed wedding, I was thrilled to accept it. And now I’m elated to share it with you!
Bethany and Derek’s wedding day was created with Middle Earth in mind. So when we say their wedding was like a fairytale, we mean it quite literally.
Spring had just sprung a few days before their nuptials, and it was a lovely sixty-five degrees with a gentle breeze off the bay. Once inside the reception, though, guests were immediately transported straight into Middle Earth. You could even get a drink from the Green Dragon!
The whole day progressed with perfect ease. Starting with a relaxed preparation on the same floor of the building, Derek and Bethany got ready for their day just feet from each other. Afterwards, Derek remained calm and collected as he waited for their first look. But when he finally saw his beautiful bride, he could barely stay on his feet!
The overwhelming passion this couple has for each other is inspiring. As Bethany walked down the aisle, their expressions were bursting with joy, you’d think that they hadn’t seen each other in years. Even long after the ceremony, the excitement never stopped. Bethany and Derek simply shared giddy looks of pure adoration all evening long!
Thanks for stopping by!
