Central Oregon is known for its outdoor enthusiasts, especially in the realm of camping. But it also has a glamorous side, i.e. winters spent hanging out at the ski lodge on Mt. Bachelor. Amanda Photographic coordinated this styled wedding to show the natural beauty of the high desert, the simple sophistication of a spring wedding, and how to take it from khaki shorts and hiking boots to a lace dress and a stylish bow-tie.
For their color palette, the team was inspired by traditional wool camping blankets. Red, Navy and a host of neutrals kept all the elements in theme. Bursts of yellow, orange, cream, and green from seasonal blooms popped against the natural red tones in the wood cabins and trees. A rusticly decadent four-tiered cake combined faux bark texture and browned meringue, (reminiscent of s’mores), and edible pearls for the perfect dessert to satisfy guests around the fire. The invitation suite included a clever RSVP card, local attractions map, and cabin door hanger/welcome message printed on wood veneer and paired with vintage stamps.
When you’re camping or glamping, usually the first thing on your mind is comfort. What better way to keep your bridesmaids cozy than by adding a flannel shirt to dress down their floor length navy dresses? The groomsmen are also comfy in button down shirts paired with sweaters and patterned ties. Lastly, the team wanted to show two items that are even more important to Oregonians than being outside, food and beer! A farm table with an Edison bulb chandelier hanging between two trees was filled with beautiful place settings, gorgeous floral arrangements, and a modified plowman’s lunch. A custom Oregon bar was across the lawn ready to pour pints or fill growlers with craft beer from one of two taps. The model bride was obviously the star of this shoot with a sweetheart neckline and flare dress with loads of layers and texture. They kept her hair and make-up the modest side to fit the laid-back theme and let her natural beauty shine through. Her real-life fiance wore mixed colors, patterns, and materials that you might find at a slightly more casual weekend wedding event.
