From the photographer:
Sunday, April 17th was a radiant day my team and I devoted to our “Gilded Enchantment Wedding Inspiration” shoot at the beautiful Spring Garden at Cameron Estate Inn and Restaurant in Mount Joy, PA. The day simply glowed with the model’s beauty and gold details that intertwined all the natural elements together.
I had a vision back in the winter to create a styled shoot that embodied a completely ethereal feel but that was very organic to the location and natural to the elegant bride planning her wedding. The three elements I wanted to be incorporated were elegance, enchantment, and romanticism. I wanted elegant touches to be carried out by incorporating simple design pieces that wouldn’t be distracting to the eye. White, greys, and gold were used throughout the place settings table decor to keep the sophisticated feel.
However, little intricate details were incorporated alongside to bring amusement. For example, gold orange slices (which were actually cork screw openers) were placed at each place setting as a unique favor to take home for the guests. Traditional polka dot details along the plates and cake pop display tray were used in mix to gold floral designs. I wanted to create a fun mix and match setting and still keep the sophistication of the design.
To bring out the enchantment and romanticism, I wanted to combine the bold color of florals with the whimsical details of the dress, accessories, and hair. The stunning and magical BHLDN wedding dress had beautiful embellishments that will speak loudly to someone that wants to stand out and be unique on their wedding day or elopement.
The floral design of the dress was perfect to establish an airy and magical aura for the model to embody. The waves of the model’s hair flowed in the wind and created that perfect organic look I was looking for when I was photographing her. The crystal earrings swung and reflected the glow of the sun. The gorgeous aquamarine engagement ring with diamond details, looked as though it belonged in a fairytale.
I had a goal to make everything glow and seem “gilded” so it was very important to incorporate gold into the shoot ( the ring and earring framing, gold patterns on plates, gold candle holders, gold details on invitations, gold chairs, gold paint strokes on the glasses). I brought in Katarina from La Linea Desserts for her amazing creative mind as she is a wonderful artist. She created a truly one-of-a-kind “gilded” cake – top tier to display the elegance and sophistication, middle tier to bring out the gold enchantment, and bottom tier to portray romanticism through the beautiful roses cluster. She also created her one-of-a-kind cake pops. She carved out a beautiful floral design and painted it gold. It’s a great twist on a cake pop! I gold-sprayed a wooden tray to be a perfect stand for the cake. Something that was simple but unique to this theme.
The beautiful flower arrangements created by the talented Sue from Fresh Designs Florist were so vibrant and were the perfect addition. I also brought in April from April Lynn Designs to design elegant invitations and menus and her interpretation of my inspiration was amazing. The intricate gold design matched the details of the gold tray perfectly… The lovely models are getting married in two months and their chemistry was evident through their loving gazes and body language. Their presence made the shoot come to life and I wanted to capture a session that seemed very real and genuine. Something that could be organic but elegant and bold at the same time.
