Photographed by Kathleen Geiberger Art, they were married at the Sand Acre Estate in Palm Springs. The entire day was filled with many DIY touches by Laura and her family. They made the robes for the bridesmaids, the menus, and even the cake. The entire wedding was about Laura and Aaron’s relationship, from the table numbers that signified different numbers and events in their life, to the ceremony that made everyone, including the photographer, cry. Their love story is like no other, as was their wedding. It was done in such good taste, beautiful enough to catch the eye of every guest, but simple enough that the focus was on the people, the love, and their marriage. Laura and Aaron are simply two of the best humans, and the fact that they are together is one that should be celebrated, and it was.
Laura and Aaron met in middle school at the local bowling alley. They were both so shy, but right away had a crush on each other. Their mutual friend wanted to set them up, but because Laura was in 7th grade and Aaron was in 6th, she thought he was too young. Oh, young love.
A few years later, they were both in high school. Laura always wanted to say hi to him; she just didn’t think that he’d remember her. Then, during the week of January 5, 2005, Aaron’s life changed forever. He was at wrestling practice, and he and his teammates built a human pyramid. It collapsed, and Aaron broke his neck, leaving him paralyzed. That summer after his accident, he and Laura met “again” and started chatting and became best friends. It took a lot of convincing and playing hard to get by Laura, but he didn’t give up, and now they’ve been together for about 10 years!
Last year, Aaron bought a beautiful home in the Desert and Laura decided to have her birthday party there. It turned out to be a special night when Aaron found a way to get out of his wheelchair, onto one knee, and propose in front of their family and friends. She said “YES!” and the rest is history.
Thanks for stopping by!
