Have you recently moved in with your fiance? Perhaps you are a newlywed and are looking for style advice? Or maybe you've been married or living together for some time, but you just have no idea how to create a more stylish looking home?
No worries...if you've answered yes to any of these questions, you're in the right place. Adding style to our home with flowers is one of my favorite things to do. Besides the lovely scent given off by many floral options, displaying flowers in your home can give it a homier feel. Yet at the same time, floral arrangements can provide a sense of elegance and Click Here to Read More

When you're just starting out as a couple in a home together, either before marriage or after, coming up with ideas for how to decorate may be challenging.
Never fear though...that's why I post these "Young Home Love" features...to give you a springboard of inspiration to hopefully bulldoze through any roadblocks that may be preventing you from designing the space of your dreams.
Of course I know a lot of you are in homes that may be rented or are temporary and you don't want to put money into such space. That's okay too. With a white palette like the rooms shown here, just a little paint
Mint seems to be spreading like wildfire through fashion, design, and weddings...have you noticed? It's such a pretty color so I'm not surprised at all.
Some aren't very fond of the hue though, especially when it comes to certain fashions. That's pretty common with most styles in fashion and design. Not everyone's going to like the same thing. In fact, a close friend of mine recently mentioned she's particularly not liking the popular trend of mint colored jeans. She said this a week or so ago while I was in the early stages of putting together this feature. And as soon as she did, I knew
After last week's sweet and fun letter from a bride who needed help styling her NY barn wedding, I've received a ton of other similar requests from couple's looking for help with their weddings as well. I love it! You know I'm more than happy to help. So today I have another bride looking for style advice.
Monica wrote in to say how much she loves the chevron pattern. I'm right there with you Monica! She also included the image of the cake below and said she'd really like to design her wedding around this cake. How fun is that?
So let's make it happen!
First thing's first, you need
Okay, maybe not exactly conjured out of dreams...but pretty darn close. Of course, it sounds good...doesn't it?
While we're on the topic of things that sound good...I recently realized I haven't done any design posts on decorating for kids and thought, "We can't have that continue now can we?" And in researching for this post I discovered there are so many amazing ideas for creating some pretty fantastical rooms for little ones. Below are some of my favorite inspirations.
If I were a kid again, I'd be ecstatic to have any one of these rooms, especially the girly ones ;-)
4 All My Wishes
With all the renovation and remodel we've got going on in our house pretty much all the time and all the STUFF I feel like we have, I'm all about making use of any area that would be good for storage or provide a spot for something needed and useful.
So...for this very reason, I pulled together some images to show how easy you can turn dead space into a valuable asset.
Here's a great use of a wall that would otherwise just be used for pictures or whatnot. It's always good to remember, whenever you are lacking in space, go up!

Here we have a great example of what to do with an
You all know how much I LOVE design right? And how passionate I am about recycling old things into something new again, correct? Let's not forget to mention how much I adore the great outdoors.
Now....how about we mix them all together into one post for today? What do you say about that?
A blogger and designer friend of mine, Lynne Knowlton from Design The Life You Want To Live, sent me some images of her AH-MAZING tree-house to share with you and I couldn't be more excited! Remember, Lynne sent me that fabulous Grapevine, Eh-Em...Balls DIY a couple of weeks ago? That's right...now I can
Alrighty then, so...you know how I'm working on my dream closet, right? Well, it's coming along marvelously and I'm dying to share what it looks like with you! But alas...there are a few things to do before I can do that. I know, I know...patience is something I lack as well, but it will be done soon...I promise!
So far I painted the entire room, built two clothes racks into one wall with two shelves and a shoe wrack. I primed and painted a dresser that was in there and created a jewelry accessory center. And it all looks so awesome! I just want to sit in there all day and admire how pretty
Besides the kitchen, in my opinion, bathrooms are an absolute necessity to have looking pretty and inviting. There's just something about having a beautiful bathroom that makes people feel good.
Take this gorgeous one below designed by Sarah Richardson and featured on House & Home. This is pretty much perfection!

If you have the space, a tub is a definite must. And this lovely light aqua room compliments the beautiful tub in grand fashion.
House of Turquoise
Um...hello, a tub IN the bedroom? Genius if you ask me.

Of any place in the house, I believe the kitchen is the heart of a home. It is in my house at least...and my mom's and my sister's and my aunt's...and so many of my friend's. The kitchen just seems to be the place where everyone likes to congregate at gatherings. It's where your loved ones lean up against the counter to sip their morning coffee before starting a hectic day. It's where kids sprawl out their school work on an island or dinette table and adults read their papers or stack their mail. It's where everyone likes to be at parties, centered around the cook and all the yummy food he
A few months ago, I featured a design post on "Exposed Brick" and my blogger friend Bree from Capitol Romance was one of the first to comment. Little did I know it was right before she started the project below. I LOVE it when others are just as excited about design as I am. But Bree's good like that and in many other ways as well. We both do the best we can to support each other's blogs. Another way she is amazingly supportive is by offering to fill in for me while I'm away. So today...we have guest blogger Bree with her 1960's Rowhouse Industrial design makeover, complete with..."exposed brick"!

Are you a designer with work that's screaming to be featured? Are you a photographer with access to beautiful homes you can photograph to further your brand? Have you recently renovated your home and you'd like to have it featured on a popular blog?
Well then, you've come to the right place!

I'm looking to start featuring submissions from all of the above and more. So if you have a design project, big or small, send it my way. You must have the right to publish the images and approval from the owner of the property as well.

Your foyer to a newcomer should be like the outfit you'd wear to an interview for the job you REALLY want. Yeah, it's that important!
The entry to your home tells a lot about you and your home so you want to make sure it gives the best impression possible, right? Or at least you want to make sure the foyer reflects the design of the rest of your home. "But, I don't have a giant foyer", you might say. That's okay, even small entry ways need a little sprucing to. Here are some great examples for inspiration.
