Although Rachel and Shawn live in Maui, they envisioned an elegant backyard affair at Rachel's family's sprawling estate in the charming Southern town of Monticello, Florida. And boy did it ever provide the perfect back drop to what Rachel described as her "Steel Magnolias" wedding.
A true Southern lady, Rachel was sure to tie plenty of tradition into her big day. She wore her mother's veil and incorporated tiny pieces of tulle from her mother's bridal bouquet into her own.

This lovely free spirited wedding took place at the Springhill Pavilion just north of Bozeman, Montana. Photographed by Fran Ze Photography, Katie and Kurt's gorgeous outdoor affair can easily be summed up as one...
The gorgeous bride added some great details including a couple of beautiful vintage chairs from Montana Party Rentals and an old wooden crate to hold the ceremony programs. The lovely flowers of Baby's Breath, Daisies in different colors and delicate pink and cream colored roses, among others, were done by Labellum, a contemporary flower boutique in town. And the mismatched bridesmaid
Don't you just love a country, shabby-chic styled wedding? It's definitely a favorite style of mine. Mia and Shawn hit the nail on the head with theirs in hues of soft blue and cream photographed by Style Life Photography. Their ceremony was held at the beautiful United Church of Granville and the reception followed at The Granville Inn just down the street.
Mia hand crafted many of the details herself, with help from Shawn of course! The most beautiful of which were all the flowers. Mia worked with a local florist who offered a package price for the flowers as well as coaching classes to
Today's bride and groom planned a romantic and intimate day with lots of glamorous style brought to reality by Katie Slauch-Boozer and Melissa Martin from Stylish Occasions Wedding & Event Planning. With rich purples, reds, and blues used in the bridal party attire and floral arrangements, as well as ceremony and reception decor, a wonderful sense of drama was created. Photographed by Style Life Photography, Rose and Matt's beautiful wedding was elegant, welcoming, and friendly. Combined with the presence of great friends and family, their special day was everything the happy couple hoped it
Ahhh...teal and yellow, the hues Amanda and Matt chose for their Rose Hill Manor wedding. Aren't they just the prettiest colors together? Not only do these shades look beautiful with each other, but combined with everything else, the colors of the venue, the fall foliage...they looked even more delightful.
I love how Amanda looks like a princess. From head to teal toe her look is absolutely perfect. And the simple white and yellow Calla Lilies are just the right choice of flower for the over-all feel. Also, the framed images attached to the end of each church pew is a super cute idea. But
It is one thing to admire all the beautiful details that go into creating the atmosphere for a wedding, yet it's something else entirely, (and completely priceless at that), to be able to admire the love and true happiness of a day through it's fabulous imagery. That's what great photography does. And it's what is shown here with Stephanie and Justin's Garfield Park Conservatory wedding photographed by Hitch & Sparrow. To me, when happiness exudes through photographs like it does here, that's the best detail ever.
Besides the happy emotion conveyed, Stephanie and Justin also had some
Laura and Kirk's wedding day was a perfect blend of vintage and modern. Laura's dress was stunning and the belt and accessories she chose added the perfect amount of "bling" she was looking for. The groomsmen also looked very dapper in their suspenders and bow ties. And the ceremony site at Pebble Creek Golf Club, which overlooked the lake and grounds, made for a breath taking scene. Photographed by Mandy Paige Photography, Laura and Kirk's wedding was as perfect as they hoped it would be.

Beautiful bride Mary Lauren and her handsome groom Daniel celebrated their wedding ceremony in Selmer, TN with a packed house! Their elegant reception was immediately following at Mary Lauren's father's beautiful estate in Jackson, Tennessee. What an August day dream!
The weather was absolutely perfect as were the details. From the long navy bridesmaids dresses to the candlelit reception...every moment had a special touch. Some favorite items were the moss covered monogram letters on the church doors, champagne flutes for each guest entering the reception, gold chargers that reflected
Today's wedding comes to us from Elliot Lake, Ontario, Canada. Photographed by Caroline Ross Photography and held at Laurentian Lodge, Maria and Matthew's beautiful forest wedding was everything they dreamed it would be.
From The Bride
We tried to keep everything local in Elliot Lake. Our DJ, Sights and Sounds, Florist, Alpine Flowers and hair stylist, Attitudes Salon were all from Elliot Lake. Matt and I did the coordinating. We printed our own invitations, made our own card holders from firewood out of my parents woodshed that Matt used a skill saw and drill to make. The lodge was awesome
Photographers Kristina and Doug of Pear Studios Inc. met today's bride and groom Michelle and Jimmy through their event planner Karina Lemke, one of the hosts of the reality show Rich Bride, Poor Bride.
Michelle and Jimmy very much wanted a low-key yet elegant and vibrant wedding with a small group of family and close friends. And that's exactly what they got.
The wedding was held in the late morning in the chapel at Graydon Hall Manor with a fabulous lunch, including rack of lamb and fresh halibut, following the ceremony. And while the wedding was beautiful and sophistcated, the afternoon
Chris and YooJin grew up in the same neighborhood and went to high school together for four years, but not once did they run into each other. It's funny how fate works, huh? Then another four years passed while both attended UBC for business and still their paths did not cross. It wasn't until the two were on the same volleyball team in their last year of university that they finally met, which is bizarre in itself since YooJin is not really a sports person. But still, the timing wasn't right yet as Chris was off to Calgary soon after graduation.
Two years later when Chris returned from
Anytime I see a pair of Manolo Blahnik shoes I instantly think of Carrie Bradshaw. And with this wedding as stylish as it is, there's no doubt it could be a wedding designed by the chic character herself. Bride Samone wanted a standout wedding with lots of gorgeous bling and that's exactly what she got. Photographed by Just Love Me {Photography + Design}, Samone and James were married at the Hotel Baker in St. Charles, Illinois in a lovely garden ceremony complete with chandeliers and jewel strands hanging from trees.
Some of my faves...I love the cute the program fans with bridal party introductions
This past Saturday was Jessica Frey's Wedding Styled Workshop in Malibu, California where I had the honor of speaking on the ins and outs of getting published. This was the second workshop this year that Jessica put on and also the second time I had the opportunity to speak on this topic. Although this workshop was a little different in that Jessica and I collaborated a bit more on the event styling. Of course that was fun in and of itself because we always work so well together and as you'll see...it turned out soooo pretty!
Before I get into these gorgeous images, I have to say a few words
