The holidays are my favorite time of year. Yes, I’d much prefer the weather a little warmer, but even the cold seems to add to the festivities. And speaking of festivities, I’ve got a super easy DIY for you today to make your home or office just a little more merrier. And when I say easy, I mean really, really easy.
And aren’t they cute?
Here’s what you’ll need to make these little mini holiday trees.
3 cardboard cones (in different sizes). You can buy them at any craft supply store or make them yourself
Glue (you can pretty much use any kind, spray glue, Elmer’s glue, a glue gun, etc.)
A colored bead strand or ribbon
All purpose pins
Step One: Apply your glue to the top point of the cone and begin wrapping your twine around the cone, applying the glue and twine as you work your way to the bottom
Step Two: Attach an all-purpose pin to the tip of your bead strand or ribbon and pin it into the top point of the cone
Step Three: Loosely wrap your bead strand or ribbon around the cone in a fashion you like. Then attach another pin to the bottom of the strand or ribbon and pin to secure it to the cone.
Step Four: Repeat steps one through three with the other size cones and you’re done. Place wherever you need a little more holiday cheer!
PS…I made the bead or ribbon strands to pin in so I can change the color or strand style whenever I feel like it. That way I can keep them out on display all year round with a different color or just with the twine. Pretty smart, eh?
Oh yes…I almost forgot. If you like the wreath hanging above the mini trees in the first image, that project was a DIY from earlier this year. You can learn how to make it by clicking this link Two Tone Burlap Wreath.
