One of the hidden wastes within a wedding that a lot of people might not consider is your bridal party attire – mainly the bridesmaid’s dresses.
Can or will your bridesmaids REALLY wear their gowns again?
This question is an important one to ask if you’re looking to ‘green” your wedding. I know we would all like to think our ladies will absolutely, 100% wear them again. But such is not always the case. We need only watch 27 Dresses to bring that point home, right?
So, rather than picking dresses for your maids that they might never wear again, why not let your girls pick their own dresses? You could give them color or pattern options, or both, and let them either buy something new or choose something fabulous that they already own. With this option, you’re sure to get the bridal party look you are hoping for…and your ladies will get more use out of their dresses for sure! And your waste in this department will be cut to the bare minimum.
Below are some great examples of how different dresses can coordinate perfectly.

Personally, I’m in love with all of these looks. And given going such a route can cut down on waste…I think the option is even more beautiful!
