Today’s elegant country chic wedding inspiration was sent over by Liz Dikinson Photography who worked with a wonderful team of vendors, (all listed below), to put this delightful shoot together for our viewing pleasure. And lucky for us, the amazing team provided a play by play of what they did to make this pretty shoot come to life. So without further ado, here’s how the team came up with their inspiration.
When we envisioned the idea of a country-chic shoot, we saw a simple, elegant and bright day wedding with lots of personal touches and hand-made details. We believe that the details should be not only beautiful, but functional as well. A balance between the theme and the couples personality is important, then find creative ways to blend them for a unique and personal event.
The lemonade stand was one of our favorite setups since it’s both pretty and tasty. What is a farm without a lemonade stand, right? Similarly, the dessert table with the naked cake by Caro’s Confections, lace macaroons by Miss Mary’s Macs, and the fresh fruit was another visual and edible treat. Finally, Mi Vintage Rental Co. with their rustic and trendy furniture, combined with Mommy & Mia hand-made runners and mismatched napkins completed the style’s humble, grassroots feel. One of the first things we envisioned for this shoot was the bride’s head piece. The idea of a flower wreath seemed perfect for a country wedding, particularly since she was in a simple dress with no veil. White limonium was perfect for the wreath to give it an ethereal, bridal look.
For the bouquet, we wanted to it have a wild flower feeling, while still looking refined and elegant. We chose mainly hydrangeas, carnations and roses in ivory and blush tones, then infused some loose greens and a few sprigs of bright colors.
We used the same combination of flowers for the centerpiece. We found this gorgeous oversized candy dish in a tiffany blue color and knew immediately it was the one. Combined with smaller candy dishes and some mason jars filled loosely with different combinations of flowers, we achieved the relaxed, country elegance we envisioned.
The French macarons, by Miss Mary’s Macs, were designed to give a classy yet very natural looking feel to these delectable bites. The macaron pops have sugar pearls scattered on the shell, filled with Ghirardelli dark chocolate ganache & decorated with an organza ribbon. The mint macarons were lightly dusted with pearl luster dust & filled with pistachio creme. My personal favorite, the radiant orchid macarons, were filled with vanilla bean buttercream, and were decorated with Sugarveil Rose Mantilla designs, in edible sugar lace.
‘Mommy & Mia’ created the hand-made vintage double-edged lace runner adorning the beautifully crafted farm style table with its matching linen napkins to accessorize and project the country heirloom look.
The napkins used for the table scape were made of a royal garden cotton with the touch of shell capiz buttons, tied together with natural jute.
To add to the country chic affect, a variation of beautifully crafted antique lace doilies were used to create the haystack runner.
