It’s no secret I’m a big fan of styled shoots. Even if the styling is minimal, some books to show how much the two of you love to read or proudly displayed season ticket stubs while wearing your favorite team’s jersey. Or even the two of you in personalized aprons cooking at home, just the way you like it.
Easy or elaborate, I love it when couples and photographers, as well as teams of vendors, put together shoots that tell a story.
So today I have this California free spirit anniversary shoot by Inkspot Photogaphy to show how with just a little thoughtfulness, you can create a shoot you’ll absolutely love!

From Elise:
“This past year has been such a whirlwind for us in the best way! Brad and I have been married for over a year and we are loving every bit of it.
We decided we wanted to do annual photos at the end of every year to celebrate our anniversary. And we couldn’t have lucked out with better weather- 73 degree’s in November?! YES PLEASE!
Being a photographer myself, I love when couples put effort into their photo shoot with props and styling. It really helps to bring out a couple’s unique style and interest. So of course I wanted my own anniversary session styled as well!
Brad loves motorcycles, so we decided to incorporate his love of bikes with his dad’s borrowed vintage BMW motorcycle. I of course have a love of cameras, so I brought along a Polaroid camera for me! I also, grabbed some plants and blankets from around the house and borrowed my moms authentic cowgirl boots to wear.
Lately, I’ve seen a lot of shoots in parks and fields, so I wanted to try something different in terms of location. We headed to a local empty parking lot and I’m thrilled with how the shoot turned out!”
Thanks for stopping by!
