California Free Spirit Anniversary Shoot

It’s no secret I’m a big fan of styled shoots. Even if the styling is minimal, some books to show how much the two of you love to read or proudly displayed season ticket stubs while wearing your favorite team’s jersey. Or even the two of you in personalized aprons cooking at home, just the way you like it.

Easy or elaborate, I love it when couples and photographers, as well as teams of vendors, put together shoots that tell a story.

So today I have this California free spirit anniversary shoot by Inkspot Photogaphy to show how with just a little thoughtfulness, you can create a shoot you’ll absolutely love!

From Elise:
“This past year has been such a whirlwind for us in the best way! Brad and I have been married for over a year and we are loving every bit of it.

We decided we wanted to do annual photos at the end of every year to celebrate our anniversary. And we couldn’t have lucked out with better weather- 73 degree’s in November?! YES PLEASE!

Being a photographer myself, I love when couples put effort into their photo shoot with props and styling. It really helps to bring out a couple’s unique style and interest. So of course I wanted my own anniversary session styled as well!

Brad loves motorcycles, so we decided to incorporate his love of bikes with his dad’s borrowed vintage BMW motorcycle. I of course have a love of cameras, so I brought along a Polaroid camera for me! I also, grabbed some plants and blankets from around the house and borrowed my moms authentic cowgirl boots to wear.

Lately, I’ve seen a lot of shoots in parks and fields, so I wanted to try something different in terms of location. We headed to a local empty parking lot and I’m thrilled with how the shoot turned out!”

Thanks for stopping by!

Winter In July, A Snowy One Year Anniversary Shoot in Provo, Utah

Since most of the country has been engulfed in the heat, heat, heat of the summer, today I thought I’d bring you a little surprise. It’s my version of “Winter in July“…and hopefully a visual trick to send a little coolness your way!

In February, Jessica and Danny were nearing their one year anniversary for which they wanted to do something special. So they approached Allison Taylor of AlliChelle Photography in Provo, Utah to help capture an amazing set of photographs to commemorate this special time in their lives.

With a winter storm on the horizon, instead of rescheduling the shoot…the three decided to use the weather to their advantage. And boy are we all glad they did. Snow shoots are the best! With Jessica’s red cape over her sweet wedding dress that she effortlessly slipped into one year later and Danny looking dapper in his light brown suit and purple tie, there’s no question they put together one magical shoot!

Isn’t this shoot the cutest? I just adore it and I hope you have too!

A Sweet Sunlit Field Anniversary Shoot + One Awesome Blue Couch!

Today’s sweet sunlit field anniversary shoot was shot by Jenn Guthrie Photography. She absolutely LOVES shooting weddings and says her favorite part of the wedding day is when she gets to sneak the bride and groom away for a quick 15-20 minute session to take their formal pictures. However, like most of us…she always seems to wish she had just a bit more time with the bride and groom before having to hurry back to the reception.

So, since more time with the bride and groom on their wedding day is hard to come by, Jenn decided to set up this styled shoot to quench her thirst. When she visualized the session she imagined a blue couch and a giant open field. She wanted a ton of gorgeous, hazy sunlight and she wanted to keep it simple. And most especially, she wanted TIME to spend with a bride and groom, where nobody was rushing to get back to the reception or worrying about the stress of the wedding day… and that’s exactly what she got.

Jenn knew Ashley and Robby would be the perfect models as they are head over heels for each other. Together since they were teens in high school, Ashley and Robby were married just last June. So for their one year anniversary, Jenn asked them to help her out on this shoot. And they were more than willing! All in all it was a blast and Jenn was so happy to see her vision come to life!

A Sweet & Special Boston Public Gardens Anniversary Shoot

Tiffany & Mitch wanted to give each other the traditional wedding gift of paper for their first anniversary so they decided to do an anniversary shoot. Traveling from Delaware to Boston and meeting up with photographer Arlene D Marston Photography, they celebrated their first anniversary at the Boston Public Gardens and Beacon Hill. Tiffany wore her wedding dress and shoes for the shoot while Mitch opted to add his cool and unique style by wearing jeans and a sport coat.

I love this idea! And re-shooting each year on your anniversary would be even better. I need to put that on my list 🙂

Happy Anniversary to The Hubby

When The Hubby and I were planning our wedding we heard many many people say, “Are you sure you want to get married between Christmas and New Years, it’s such a stressful time”.  Other comments were more along the lines of bad timing for gift giving with the insinuation that because of Christmas, our future anniversary gifts would be a second thought.  Silly, huh?  Who cares what either of us gets each other for our anniversary and I wouldn’t change the fact that we got married during the holidays for anything.  I love this time of year and I’m still very happy to celebrate our special day between the years’ two biggest holidays.

Today is a very special day for me as it is the fourth anniversary of the day I joined my life with the life of my most favorite person in the world, The Hubby.  Each day I am amazed at how lucky we are to have found each other as a couple, even after the many years of friendship we celebrated before. And each day I’m thankful we compliment each other so wonderfully, as I now cannot imagine my life without him in it.

This past year has been a new adventure for us, and a bit of a role reversal with me now working from home and him commuting further for work.  But we are making the best of it and each day we are both striving to make our life together that much better.  We also brought in a special addition to our home this year, our crazy, cute, adorable, funny and sweet Pupp-Awg Quinley, who we’ve both become incredibly attached to and love as if she were our own child.

Life is good, we are very happy and our little family is just how I hoped it would be.  And so I thought I’d take a moment to reflect.  On this day four years ago with family and friends and a whirlwind of details swirling around us, we joyfully said “I do” and became Mr. & Mrs.  And although each year when I reflect like this and think through all the time we’ve been together, I can never quite pinpoint the exact moment when we fell in love.  But I do know on this day four years ago we became happier than either of us thought possible.

I love you honey.  Happy anniversary!!!

Have a Fab You Bliss day!

xoxo

Stephanie
